(More pictures below) This car has been my baby for over 10 years. I have enjoyed working on it over many weekends. I usually drove it about 3,000 miles a year on weekends and running errands but it's time to move on. Been looking a old Vettes or maybe a Cobra kit car. This was not what is known as a restoration (certainly not frame-off) but I essentially fixed all items that needed fixing over the years. This is now a very drivable, dependable car. It's not so original that you want to garage it and just look at it. It's got lots of miles on it and is ready for lots more. Since I bought the car in 1998, it has been parked in a garage. I purchased it from a guy in Atlanta and he had it in a garage, also. Cannot vouch for any time before that. When I bought the car, step one was to fix a nasty vibration whenever coasting with the clutch in. Found this was the rear universal joint from which every roller bearing had fallen out. This was replaced and now runs smooth. Next was to fix all things electrical. I found out the hard way (when I was driving home in the dark on evening) that the headlights did not work unless you pulled constantly on the headlight knob. This is hard to do while driving a manual trans. So, replaced the switch, all light bulbs, fixed the horn, blinkers, instrumentation lights, etc. While in the dash board, I replace the speedometer cable. This was not working so no telling how many miles are one the car. Now it was time to attack the convertible top. It was shredded and mildewed so in the beginning, I only drove it with the top down. During removal and installation, I installed all new hydrolics for the electric top mechanism. This includes both hydrolic lifters and the pump. The top was only $149 but the hydrolics was over $400. Electic top works great, now. Next, replaced the interior. Even though the car came with Standard interior, the seats were converted and re-upholstered with the Pony interior. The car was already not quite original due the the paint job. It was originally Wimbledon White and was painted red before I bought it so I thought I would use the Pony interior. Rewelded several weak spots in the seat frame. I installed a Pertronix electronic ignition kit. This is not the full blown EI but the electronic replacement for the points and condensor. So now you don't have to worry about cleaning and adusting points. You can set the timing and forget it. Originally the car came with single exhast but was converted to duals before I bought it. I replaced the entire exhast system with new duals. I replaced the mufflers with flowmaster knock-offs. Not the real thing but they sound great. Not loud but throaty. Other items include weather stripping, voltage regulator, glove box, door arm rests (door pulls), parking brake handle, and a trunk and spare tire liner. Many more things were done, like a new rubber strip between the hood and cowl, but are too numerous to list. I have all receipts for you to browse. UPDATE: Added pictures of complete brake job. All new drums, hoses, calipers, hoses, etc. Scroll to bottom to see pics. New Items:
